technology and software advance, buying flac online is equivalent to owning a music cd.
mp3 is lossy format that might be deprecated one day because file size and bandwidth is no longer an issue and we will see flac only.
anyway, that day still hasn't come, i myself only keep a few flacs i couldnt find the mp3 release or have the original cd.
you could say that is similar to 4k vs HD, sure 4k content theoretically should be better, but it depends on your equipment.
